History

Al’s Excavating, Inc. was started in 1976 by Al and Marcia Elgersma. The Company began with one bulldozer, one dump truck, one trailer, and Al’s experience in the excavating field. The original service was primarily residential. Over the years we have substantially expanded our fleet as well as expanded to primarily service industrial, commercial, and municipal customers, while keeping connected with our community’s residential customer’s.

In the year 2017, the business began transitioning ownership to the 3rd generation. Jeff Mulder and Jen Mulder (Brother & Sister) started their careers with the Company before graduating High School and have worked their way up to their current management positions.

Philosophy

Our personal philosophy at Al’s Excavating, Inc. has shaped the direction and growth of the Company to a large extent. There is a commitment to excellence, the striving to do better, and the desire to be proud of all persons, projects, facilities and functions of the business. Our continuing objective is to maintain a strong team of co-workers who share that philosophy.
